Hiiro Kanazawa

  2002年生まれ。札幌市出身。7歳から中の島小学校金管バンドBECONでジャズトランペットを始める。札幌大谷中学に進学し、音楽科でクラシックを専攻。同時期に吹奏楽部に入部。トロンボーン奏者酒本廣継にジャズ理論を学ぶ。のち、大谷高校へ進学し、ジャズに専心。2018年には渡米して、シアトルで本場のJAZZに触れつつTerell Stafford、 Jay Thomasに師事した。また、Jeff Hamilton、 Randy Breckerのプレイに感銘を受ける。Gene Jacksonとの共演も実現させた。2022年にはDonald Harrison、札幌シアタージャズライブではピアニスト海野雅威と共演。
2024年には単身NYに訪れ、Jon Faddis、北川潔、寺久保エレナとDizzy’s Clubで共演を果たす。

現在は主に札幌のジャズバー、ライブハウスで演奏活動を続けている。

  Born in 2002. Born in Sapporo, I started playing jazz trumpet at the age of 7 in the Nakanoshima Elementary School brass band BECON. Entered Sapporo Otani Junior High School and majored in classical music in the music department. At the same time, I joined the brass band club. Studied jazz theory under trombone player Hirotsugu Sakamoto. In 2018, I went to the U.S. to study with Terell Stafford and Jay Thomas while experiencing authentic jazz in Seattle. In 2022, I performed with Donald Harrison and pianist Masatake Unno at the Sapporo Theater Jazz Live.
In 2024, I visited New York by myself and performed with Jon Faddis, Kiyoshi Kitagwa and Erena Terakubo at Dizzy's Club.
Currently, I am performing mainly at jazz bars and live houses in Sapporo.
